Maple Walk School – Detective Mable Walker to the Rescue

26 Oct 2016

Maple Walk pupils were treated to a Forensic Science workshop this week, to demonstrate the practical applications of science.

All year groups practiced science techniques and were encouraged to solve the ‘crime’.

It was the responsibility of the class to work together to explore the evidence and uncover the clues.

First the crime scene was cordoned off to preserve the evidence, which was then identified, collected, interpreted and analysed.

This included finding, developing and characterising fingerprints, investigating tool marks and other impressions, identifying hairs and fibres and investigating blood, bones and DNA.
