Extreme Physics
21 May 2013
During Easter Mr Miller accompanied a team of four year 10 pupils to the annual ‘Extreme Physics’ residential courses held at Lancaster Royal Grammar School. The boys were pitched against teams from other schools in a number of ‘extreme’ and highly competitive challenges. The activities were enjoyed by all and included rock climbing, building dragsters and indoor sky diving. Throughout the trip students had to complete a journal and prepare a group talk on a physics topic. The boys placed highly throughout the events and won numerous rosettes for their achievement, knowledge and creativity. The competition was fierce and there was only a few points separating the top five schools. The team of James Alexander, Joseph Chadderton, Laurence Duncan and Alex Robinson rounded off a very successful and enjoyable trip by taking fourth place. Participants of the trip are now eligible for Ogden university scholarships if they go on to study Physics at university.
