Excellent ISI report for Southbank Kensington
15 Jun 2022
We’ve always known our school and community is special, but we’ve had that confirmed by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), who reports to the UK governments Department of Education.
Earlier this week we received the report for our Kensington campus, following the ISI’s inspection of our school just before the winter break. We are thrilled with all the positive things they highlighted about our school whilst on their weeklong visit.
This ISI inspection involves two parts. The first part reports on regulations in relation to the Independent Schools Standards all of which we are pleased to confirm are compliant.
The second part of the inspection is on educational quality, focusing on the two outcomes:
- The achievement of pupils, including their academic development, and
- The personal development of pupils.
The report contains these key findings:
- The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent
- Pupils develop extremely effective study skills by the time they leave the school.
- Pupils make strong progress from the earliest age. The progress of those with EAL (English as additional language) is particularly rapid.
- At all ages, pupils’ attitudes to learning are highly positive.
- Pupils are highly effective listeners
- The quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent
- Pupils demonstrate extremely high standards of behaviour and an acute understanding of right and wrong.
- Pupils demonstrate excellent social skills across all ages.
- Pupils display extremely high levels of personal responsibility both in lessons and during free time.
- Pupils exercise excellent tolerance and acceptance of others’ differences.
This feedback deserves a huge thank you to our students for being so great, along with our teachers for their tireless efforts to maintain our exceptional standards of teaching and learning.
