EXCELLENT A-LEVEL RESULTS FOR MAYNARD STUDENTS
16 Aug 2012
The Upper Sixth at the Maynard School have once again achieved excellent A-level results for 2012.
A2 pass rate 100%
Percentage of students gaining A* or A Grades 48%
Percentage of students gaining A*, A or B Grades 83%
This year we are delighted that many of our students have successfully gained places at Russell Group universities including Cambridge, Bristol, UCL, King’s College, and St Andrews.
In addition, all three candidates in our first cohort to take the AQA Baccalaureate gained merits. This demanding qualification involves studying at least three A-levels, with additional independent study and research, an Extended Project Qualification, critical thinking and community participation.
Success stories include:
Melanie Etherton, from Crockernwell, who scored 4 A* and gained a place to read Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
Becky Brown, from Torquay, who gained 1 A* and 2 A Grades and has a place at Birmingham to read Sports Science. Becky is also an Olympic hopeful for 2016 having recently won Silver in the 100m Hurdles at the England Athletics Aviva Championships & World Trials this June.
Reem Khreisheh, from Exeter, who scored 1 A* and 2 A Grades, and will be taking a gap year.
