Excellent A Level results for Lucton School

12 Nov 2014

A level pupils at Lucton School celebrated another year of excellent exam results.

A third of all A levels taken achieved A*- A grades with over three-quarters at A* to C and an overall pass rate of 100%.

Head Of Sixth Form, John Goode, praised his pupils’ success, saying, “I am absolutely delighted. Our pupils have worked so hard and most are now heading to their first choice university, many to top Russell Group universities.”

Examples of excellent performances include: Clarissa Simpson (on left in the photo), who achieved 3 As in Chemistry, Physics and Maths, as well as an A Grade in AS Further Mathematics – she will now study Chemistry at Bristol University;  Vinci Yu having gained A*, A, A, B grades and who will now go to Durham University. Year 12 results were also very pleasing, with Rosie Oatham and her twin sister, Alice, both achieving 4 A grades as AS level.

Lucton Sixth Form is home to around 60 pupils and Headmistress, Gill Thorne credits Lucton’s exam success to its size, stating, “We are able to personalise programmes of study and tuition, tailoring these to each student and coupled with outstanding teaching, Lucton provides the best possible Sixth Form education and is ideal preparation for the demands of university.”
