Epsom College – Eleanor Graham wins third in coveted Cambridge History Essay Prize

Congratulations to Lower Sixth pupil Eleanor Graham (Wh) who recently won joint third place and £100 in the Newnham College, Cambridge History Essay Prize. She chose to discuss “Inequality has been the dominant trend in modern history.”

The competition is open to all female students who are currently in Year 12 at any UK school. They are able to enter the prizes which are offered in Architecture, Engineering, History, Modern and Medieval Languages, Philosophy, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences, as well as the annual ‘Woolf Essay Prize’ with questions inspired by Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own.

Each of these has a first prize of £400, a second prize of £200 and a third prize of £100. Eleanor will be invited to attend the prize-giving at Newnham College in June 2017.
