England Rugby Cap Ben Moon Coaches Wellington School Pupils

24 Jan 2019

Wellington School pupils are benefitting from England rugby player and local hero Ben Moon.

Rugby players at Wellington welcomed Ben back to school following the autumn international series up at Twickenham. Ben played a key role in England’s successful campaign with the big hitters from the Southern Hemisphere. Described by Chief’s head coach Ali Hepher as “one of the best props in the Premiership for a long time” Ben is an excellent example to all young aspiring players because his chance for international honours has come as a result of hard work, commitment and graft.

Speaking of Ben’s call up in an interview with the BBC, Hepher also stated that “it says to everyone out there that if you perform well over a longer period you might get your opportunity.” Pupils and players take note: there is little in life that is worth doing if it is handed to you on a plate!

Alastair Anderson, Deputy Head, Co-curricular comments “Ben coaches at Wellington School for 4 hours each week, and has helped all squads from Years 7 upwards. The 1st XV have been particularly keen to learn from his experience. A man with a modest outlook and a terrific work ethic, we are very lucky to have him onboard.”
