Culford Introduces New Scholarship for A-Level Scientists
20 Nov 2013
Culford School has introduced a new scholarship for 2014 entry designed for pupils from the state sector wishing to study the sciences at A Level before proceeding to university to study a science-related degree.
The Professor Watson Scholarship is designed to widen access to the facilities and specialist teaching that Culford offers and is therefore aimed exclusively at pupils from state sector schools. It is also hoped that the scholarship will support the study of science and related disciplines at A-level and beyond to university degree level.
The scholarship is worth 25% of day or boarding fees although additional financial support up to 100% will be made available on a means-tested basis to enable any recipient of the award to attend Culford.
Applicants should expect to gain a suite of top grades at GCSE level, especially in the sciences, and be ambitious to study science, medicine or dentistry at a leading university. Support to fulfil those ambitions forms part of the scholarship package. Examinations for applicants to Culford’s academic scholarships take place on Friday 22nd November.
