Cricket Coaching trip to India for Malvern College pupils
10 Mar 2014
Over the Lent half term, Malvern College pupils travelled to Pune, India to participate in a spin academy set up by the Global Cricket School. This was a fantastic opportunity for the young Malvern cricketers, not only to develop their proficiency in bowling and batting against spin, but to do so in one of the most enthusiastic cricket countries in the world.
As well as training sessions including coaching from Hrishikesh Kanitkar, the Rajasthan captain and former test player, pupils were able to experience Indian culture and cuisine before the chance to play against some local opposition.
“The trip was a fantastic experience for all concerned and one that will live long in their memory”, said Mark Hardinges, Master i/c of Cricket at Malvern. “This training will be invaluable for the boys in the forthcoming season.”
