Clifton College – Best ever A Level results

Clifton College’s Class of 2015 receive the best A Level results ever, with 82% of pupils gaining A* to B and 55% of pupils gaining A* to A grades. An impressive 30% of all pupils gained grades that were only A*s and As.
Girls have done particularly well, achieving 88% A* to B grades. This gives Clifton College the highest achieving results for girls in Bristol, and contrary to received wisdom, indicates that co-education does not discriminate against them.
In total, 17 pupils have gained places at Oxford or Cambridge University – again, the highest number in Bristol. Of these, over half were recipients of funded places through scholarships and bursaries, and nearly two thirds joined Clifton College in the Prep school.
A closer look at the results reveals more interesting successes. 40% of pupils studying Mathematics, and 70% of those studying Classics received A*s. 82% of pupils studying STEM subjects received A* to Bs and over half of the Humanities results were A*s or As.
Head of College Mark Moore says: ‘We are immensely proud of all our pupils, and these outstanding result are testament their hard work and dedication. We wish them all a fantastic onward journey.’
He continues, ‘From September 2016, we’re delighted to be offering even more scholarships and bursaries to children from the age of 11.’
