It must be Christmas time again at Slindon College!
A huge thank you to our amazing Catering Team for cooking such a delicious roast dinner. As is tradition, the Great Hall was laid out in House Tables, with members of both the Senior Leadership Team and Maintenance Team acting as waiters for the staff and pupils. This even included Headteacher, Mrs Vlahodimou! The food was absolutely delicious, as well as the choice of desserts.
We cherish our old traditions at Slindon College, but we also love to create new ones! This year our celebrations ended with a musical extravaganza. It featured karaoke, carols and special rehearsed musical performances from Will (Sixth Form), Freddie (Year 8), Toby (Year 10) and Callum (Year 10) on the disco decks!
There was also a ‘Jingle Bell’ Challenge between the Houses – could the teachers play jingle bells under pressure? Richmond House were the winners, well done Miss Sacre (Art)!
The musical afternoon was led by Mrs Seaby (Music) and we hope it will continue for years to come!
In addition, our Performing Arts Department led a fantastic Carol Service in nearby St. Mary’s Church, Slindon. This included readings from our Head Boy and prefects; traditional carols; a solo from Ms Coffey (Assistant Head), the British Sign Language Club’s rendition of ‘Silent Night’ and all singing, all dancing segments from ‘Oliver!’ the musical! The day ended with a Christmas Fete held at the College, organised by our Friends of Slindon College members.
Our Head Boy, Lenny (Year 11) recorded a special Christmas message, which can be viewed on our YouTube, Facebook & Instagram pages.
