Christ College U14s & U18s power their way to win the County Tournament

Christ College’s U14 VII provided Christ College with a double celebration last week as they joined the Christ College 1st VII in winning their respective South Powys County Tournaments held at Brecon Leisure Centre on Thursday 27th September.

The CCB U14s squad consisted of Georgia Grady, Julia Copp, Bea Hayes (Captain), Issy Morris, Alice Lilley, Nadia Pettit, Amelia Reynolds and Aisling Tarpey.

Their route to the tournament win was as follows:
A win against GwernyfedCS A18 – 1
A win against Builth Wells CS A 31 – 0
A win against Crickhowell HS 6 – 5
A win against John Beddoes HS 16 – 1
A win in the final against Llandrindod Wells HS 14 – 3

The Christ College 1st VII were also crowned South Powys Champions and will now play the winners of North Powys county tournament to qualify and represent Powys at the National inter-county finals known as the Presidents Cup Competition. Christ College have represented Powys every year for the last 14 years so the 2012/13 squad have much to live up to.

The squad consists of Annabel Jones (C), Catrin Bush, Lowri Stephens, Cara McNaughton, Rhiannon Phillips, Nan Thomas, Lauren Williams, Elinor Jones, Ariadne Bridge and Bella Fisher.
Their route to the S, Powys title was as follows:
A win against Llandrindod HS 23 – 2
A win against Gwernyfed 22 – 1
A win against Crickhowell 22 – 4
A win against Brecon HS 16 – 1
This year Powys will host the Presidents Cup which will be played in Brecon Leisure Centre Saturday 16th MARCH 2013

Netball at Christ College goes from strength to strength and the school has entered 3 teams in the Brecknock Netball League and for the first time the League has been extended to include U14 teams.
Matches are played at Brecon Leisure Centre on a Tuesday evening 5.00pm – 7.00pm with each match lasting 1 hour.

Christ College played their first U14 game against Crickhowell on Tuesday 2nd October and won 28 – 7.
