Chinese New year at Bromsgrove School

28 Mar 2018

Senior, Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory pupils from Bromsgrove School have been celebrating Chinese New Year this week with a variety of activities.

Children at the Pre-Prep enjoyed a morning of celebration on Thursday 8th February, learning all about Chinese New Year from the School’s Senior students.  Commenting on the day, the Year 10 pupils said “the children were very attentive and interested, “it was a very special experience and I taught the children how to use chopsticks!”, “It was an exciting experience because it was the first time I had talked to more than twenty-five people.”

Reception and Pre-School dressed in lucky red, made dragons and lucky red envelopes and particularly enjoyed tasting Chinese food.

Mrs Julia Boonnak, Head of International Education said “There are educational benefits for all pupils when presenting Chinese New Year: the older pupils learn about public speaking in front of a real audience, while the younger pupils get to learn first-hand the customs and traditions of a different culture”.
