Bromsgrove Young Rider Takes 3rd Place in 122 WHP Class at The Horse of the Year Show

Budding young show jumper Chloe Chan from Bromsgrove Prep School and her horse Waitwith Choice are over the moon after coming an amazing 3rd place in the 122cm Working Hunter Pony Class at the Horse of the Year Show on Saturday 5th October. Chloe has owned Little Mary since 2018 but despite this being a relatively new combination and their first season, the duo jumped a beautifully clear round, being placed just one point from 2nd place. They both competed against the top 17 adult section from across the UK.
Little Mary (Waitwith Choice) is a 17 year old Welsh section A mare. Chloe’s trainer Niki Horsley Gubbins and Chloe’s mum helped the pair train through the winter and spring in preparation for the Royal Three Counties Show, where the duo were successful in qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show by winning her class of 32 riders, the majority of whom were adults, scoring 91%.
Chloe and Waitwith Choice have had an extremely successful season during 2019, winning multiple titles and competing in the BSPS and NPS shows very successfully. However, the Horse of the Year Show was certainly the icing on the cake for Chloe – “Having at first been in awe of the wonderful riders and horses at the Horse of the Year Show on TV, my experiences this year have taught me that if you focus and work hard, with passion and determination, your dreams can come true.”
