Talented Upper Sixth musician Joshua Osborn-Patel from Bromsgrove School has been lucky enough to play at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall this summer. The musician, who is one of ten horn players in the National Youth Orchestra played at the BBC Proms concert held in August. The concert of orchestral masterworks included Debussy’s La Mer, Ligeti’s mesmerising Lontano and Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand.

Joshua has been playing the horn since the age of 7 and has enjoyed playing in School music ensembles and the School orchestra. He is about to start his 4th year in the Worcestershire Youth Orchestra. Speaking about his experience Joshua said, “This was my first time playing in the Royal Albert Hall and it was such a rewarding experience as I’ve never played to such a full audience before. The sense of accomplishment was really fulfilling and great to share with the other Orchestra members and I hope to play in the Royal Albert Hall again soon”.
