Bromsgrove School’s Stars of the Stage Excel at RADA
24 Apr 2012
On 17th March nine Bromsgrove School pupils descended on Gower Street, London to take their Shakespeare Certificates at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
The pupils presented monologues from plays as diverse as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and Julius Caesar. The two Gold candidates gave additional performances – Rachel Hotchin’s three monologues from Arden of Faversham were all on the theme of Divided Loyalty, while Polly Fletcher focussed her theme on Manipulative Women from The White Devil.
The examiners’ individual written feedback commented in every case on the candidates’ intelligent approach, commitment and enthusiasm. The pupils were delighted to attain an 100% pass rate. Polly Fletcher (aged 18) and Rachel Hotchin (aged 17) both achieved the ultimate – their Individual Gold Award; Montana Bent (aged 17) gained Silver while, Margarita Marsheva and Ada Yang (both aged 16) along with India Morris, Daria Solomatina and Adelina Tugusheva (all aged 17) were all successful at Bronze level. The youngest member of the group Simon Hotchin (aged 15) also achieved Bronze awarded with Merit.
