Bromsgrove School – The Big Sing

17 Nov 2017

Talented vocalists at Bromsgrove Preparatory and Senior Schools enjoyed a ‘Big Sing’ day on Friday 29th September. The idea behind the Big Sing was to inspire pupils to sing in harmony, learn exciting, new styles of music and explore what the voice can really do. The pupils even experienced beatboxing during the day. Head of Vocal Studies, Ms Suzzie Vango led pupils and staff in song, accompanied by Mr Rob Challinor on keyboard in a challenging, fun day of music making and teamwork.

Mr James McKelvy, Director of Music at the School said ‘The Big Sing day was superb fun. Ms Vango led pupils and staff in song on the new Routh Concert Hall stage and in the Memorial Chapel. All of Years 6 and 7, the Prep and Senior Chapel Choirs, and even a Staff Choir, were put to the test, and the delight on everyone’s faces said it all. Singing really is the best medicine!’

Bromsgrove School has recently undergone a building and development programme including a brand new Performing Arts Centre which officially opens in November. Facilities include Routh Concert Hall and Cobham Theatre both seating an audience of 300, a large drama studio and an entire suite of new music classrooms and rehearsal areas.
