08 Aug 2012
Bromsgrove School Sixth Form student Sophie Luckman has won this year’s Woolf Essay Prize for academic essay writing. The prize is run by Newnham College, Cambridge in honour of the writer Virginia Woolf, who is one of the College’s most famous alumni. It is designed to give students the opportunity to think and write about women in literature, history, society and culture, while developing the independent study and writing skills essential to university-level study. Sophie beat a strong field of applicants to be judged this year’s best entry in this prestigious academic competition.
