Bromsgrove School – charity dodgeball

23 Apr 2018

On Friday 9th March, five students from Bromsgrove School organised a charity dodgeball event which raised £240 for Sense UK.

The students chose the charity as they wanted to support the work that their teacher, Dr Rimmer already does with the charity. They chose dodgeball as they wanted an activity which both students and staff could get involved in as they had not seen anything like that happen at the School before. They organised the event themselves from start to finish and have learned just how much goes into organising a large scale event.

Dr Dawn Rimmer volunteered and worked with Sense for over 17 years, running respite care holidays for people with complex communication needs such as deafblindness and autism. She now runs three sign language classes per week for students age 8 to 18 as part of Bromsgrove School’s activity programme. Business students heard about the great work the charity does from her and therefore chose to support them with their excellent event.
