05 Jul 2018

Congratulations to Bromsgrove School’s Freddie Draycott who will represent England in the Wadokai Karate World Championships in the UK in August. This will be the first time that the Championships have taken place outside Japan.

Freddie began training with Kombat Kids at the age of five. His training still takes place at his home club in Barnt Green. He now trains an additional three times a week in Walsall.

Freddie has competed at three European Championships held in Reading, Bruges and Sardinia respectively, winning a total of three Gold, four Silver and three Bronze medals.

There will be 650 athletes competing at the Championships from around the world, including a huge squad from Japan and North America.

Freddie is one of the few athletes selected to compete in both Kata and Kumite.
