Bellan House Pupils at Oswestry School Enjoy a Recorder Windfall!

25 Jul 2018

The Preparatory Department of Oswestry School, Bellan House, had a visit from Bruce Perrin from local firm Barnes & Mullins. Bruce is one of the Managing Directors of the firm and he and a photographer arrived to take pictures of the school’s recorder group.

Barnes & Mullins is the UK distributor for AULOS school recorders and every year AULOS produce a calendar that is distributed globally by their distribution partners. AULOS are an American company who have been making recorders for 54 years.

Each month of the year of the calendar will feature children from schools in different countries playing recorders and Bruce was asked to locate a school that would be willing to provide a photograph of a music group of pupils playing the recorder. If chosen, the photograph will be distributed worldwide! The pictures will be sent to the Tokyo headquarters and photographs for the calendar will be chosen then.

As a reward for taking part AULOS donated 20 descant recorders, 3 trebles and 2 tenors worth hundreds of pounds.
