Author Luke Temple visits Bromsgrove Prep School

On Friday 29th November, Bromsgrove Preparatory School pupils in Years 3 to 6 were captivated by a presentation from children’s author, Luke Temple. Luke took the children on a journey to discover how his stories are created. There was plenty of enthusiasm when Luke asked for volunteers to act out star roles as his books were brought to life. There was action-packed drama, audience participation, video sequences and laugh-out loud fun when everyone became excited about reading and writing. Luke told the pupils that he himself had not found reading and writing easy at school, yet he had become an established writer. His talk was truly inspiring for the youngsters! Pupils had the opportunity to hear extracts from Ghost Post and Doorway To Danger which has motivated them to read these exciting books. The school’s youngest pupils at the Pre-Prep pupils were not forgotten; in the afternoon, Luke performed his pirate workshop to Years 1 & 2.
Head of Prep School English, Estella Lightfoot commented, “Luke’s visit brought his stories to life in a way that involved every child, ensuring that all pupils will be inspired to read. He was highly entertaining too!”
