Artsmark Gold Award, Spring Grove School, Wye
25 Jan 2024
After an Artsmark journey of more than three years, Spring Grove is proud and delighted to announce that the school has been awarded an Artsmark Gold Award in recognition of its outstanding performing and creative arts provision. Artsmark is a creative quality standard for schools that is accredited and awarded by the Arts Council, England.
This exciting award follows on from Spring Grove’s most recent (2023) inspection report, when the inspectors noted ‘Pupils’ creative and aesthetic abilities are highly developed: pupils perform in drama productions and superb creative work is evidenced around the school.’ Spring Grove was found to be ‘excellent’ in all aspects in that inspection – the highest grade achievable for both academic outcomes and the quality of the pupils’ personal development.
Spring Grove embarked on its Artsmark journey in 2020, and since then has clearly demonstrated how it goes about fulfilling its mission for the arts to: ‘offer our children unique opportunities to express themselves and engage in their learning in a variety of ways.’
In its feedback on the Gold Award, the Artsmark assessors wrote: ‘Spring Grove School has developed a rich arts curriculum and provides a stimulating variety of opportunities for children to learn in and through the arts as part of its regular routines and timetables as well as one-off special projects.’
The broad, creative curriculum offered at Spring Grove School helps all of its pupils to have opportunities to develop their knowledge and talents and to become curious and creative learners – skills that will remain with them for life.
