An Audience to Remember with Darcey Bussell
23 Mar 2013
Prior Park College hosted ex prima ballerina Darcey Bussell on Sunday in support of their flourishing Dance programme and as part of their sponsorship of the Bath Literature Festival. Billed as An Audience with Darcey Bussell, it was indeed an audience to remember. From the minute she stepped from her car, Ms Bussell’s easy going nature was evident as she shook hands, posed for photographs, signed books and spoke of her life as a professional dancer.
Ms Bussell was interviewed by two of Prior’s senior dance students, Molly Fleet and Masha Thorpe, in front of an enthralled audience of students, staff and parents. With questions that probed her eating habits before performances through to her coping mechanisms during injury, Ms Bussell responded enthusiastically and fully, giving answers that shone light on the breadth of her extraordinary career.
After the event at Prior, Ms Bussell then addressed a sellout audience at the Guild Hall as she showed some of the incredible images from her book Darcey Bussell – A Life in Pictures.
