39 point average in IB Diploma for Whitgift pupils

Whitgift is pleased to announce that this year’s International Baccalaureate (IB) students have achieved an average score of 39 points out of 45. Around 50 students formed part of the 2023 IB cohort, making this the largest group opting for the qualification since the IB began being offered alongside A Levels in Whitgift’s Sixth Form.

Director of International BaccalaureateMr Edmund White said, “The students this year have shown exceptional dedication to the demands of studying for the IB – everyone has worked extremely hard, balancing academic rigour and focus with a broad range of impressive personal achievements. I am delighted we have continued with our 100% pass rate and to share that 19 of the cohort achieved 40+ points, with three achieving a near perfect 44/45 points.

“Our students will now be heading off to a variety of fantastic further education establishments, including Oxford and Princeton – I wish them the very best as they embark on their onward careers and studies.”

The average point score  makes Whitgift the top boys’ school in the UK for the IB.
