Young Samurai author visits Sibford

Award-winning author Chris Bradford visited Sibford School in Oxfordshire in November.
Chris, who is author of the popular ‘Young Samurai’ series, chatting about his books, his career … and also gave an exhibition of iaido (samurai swordmanship).
Said pupil India Harwood, age 11: “Chris Bradford was amazing and I really liked him being dressed as a Samurai” Added Matthew Clacy, also 11: ““I thoroughly enjoyed the Chris Bradford talk and I can’t wait to read the Samurai books”
Chris Bradford’s books are published in over 20 languages and have received more than 18 children’s book award nominations. Young Samurai: The Way of the Warrior was deemed one of Puffin’s 70 Best Ever Books, alongside Treasure Island and Robin Hood.
Chris has also written two series aimed specifically at children with dyslexia … The NINJA trilogy, described as the ‘flipside’ to theYoung Samurai series, and Gamer.
Frances King, Sibford School Librarian said: “We were delighted that Chris was able to join us. He was an inspiring speaker and a brilliant performer … the pupils loved him.”
