Winterfold House School – Music Makers’ Concert

28 Mar 2018

On Thursday 8th February, pupils from Winterfold School in Chaddesley Corbett held their first Music Makers’ Concert which was a great opportunity for all children in Pre-Prep to showcase their musical talents.

A packed Penryn Hall audience was treated to the delights of Do Your Ears Hang Low and We Can Play on the Big Bass Drum by Kindergarten 2 and Reception children.  It was lovely to see the younger children enjoying themselves on stage, singing and playing their instruments with confidence.  Talented Year 1 and 2 children performed El Cumbanchero and The Magic Travel Machine, demonstrating their progression in Music from the Early Years.  There were star performances by select Prep pupils, the Girls’ Harmony Choir and The Groove Diggers to help with the younger pupils’ aspirations to grow as musicians and continue their musical journey.

At Winterfold, opportunities are continually sought for children, whether a beginner or proficient, to perform to their parents, peers and external audiences. From School assemblies to international concert recitals, Symphony Hall performances and local music competitions, all pupils have the opportunity to take pleasure in performing for others.

Denise Toms, Headmistress said “These children are some of the youngest children at Winterfold.  They displayed a huge amount of talent and it shows there is great potential for the future of Music at the School”.
