The Old Hall School – success at the National IAPS Swimming Championships

30 Jun 2015

Poppy made the long journey down to Crawley on Saturday May 9 to compete in the girls’ Under 11 50m freestyle event. In spite of an exhausting week with the rest of her Year 6 classmates on their residential trip to France Poppy pulled out all the stops in her heat to smash the longest standing school record which has stood since 2007. She finished in a remarkable time of 31.84 seconds. This made her the fifth fastest qualifier earning her a place in the final.

In a very close final Poppy once again swam superbly to eventually finish in sixth place, just 0.3 seconds behind the bronze medal winner.

Well done Poppy!
