St Edmund’s College U14 netballers are through to the finals of the National Schools Netball Competition to represent the East region after finishing as runners up of the regional tournament on Saturday 30th January.

The girls played six group games against tough competition from other East region schools, winning all matches convincingly with a strong display of teamwork, well-practiced skills and set pieces. During these six matches the team scored 84 goals, and only conceded 8!

Despite going down by three goals in the semi-final, the girls pulled together as a squad to eventually win by five goals against Brentwood. This ensured the team progressed to the National Finals to represent the region.

Mr Durán, Headmaster, said, ‘I congratulate all involved, students, staff and parents on this fantastic achievement: to represent your region at this level is a great honour!”
