    Facilities

    We have specialised Music and Drama Centres and a separate 6th Form Centre with its own ICT suite, reference and resource area and recreation facilities.

    The main sports played are rugby, hockey, netball, tennis and cricket. Squash, badminton, golf, cross-country running, athletics, swimming, cycling and canoeing are also actively pursued and there are school teams in each of these sports. Facilities include a full size and a third size floodlit Astroturf; Sports centre with Climbing Wall, 3 Badminton Courts, 2 Squash Courts and Basketball Court; indoor 25m swimming pool; tennis courts; rugby, football and cricket pitches and a cross country course.     The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme flourishes as does the Combined Cadet Force and an active Community Service group. Other activities include pottery, life saving, rock climbing and debating.

    EAL (English as an Additional Language):- Differing levels of support are provided for those pupils whose first language is not English. Students’ grasp of English as well as their future intentions are established once they arrive. Teaching is provided by qualified specialist staff in a supportive environment where diversity is celebrated.

    Full, weekly and flexi boarding is available in our 8 boarding houses, each with a mixture of single, double, 3 and 4 bed rooms.

    Scholarships

    11+: Academic, Performing Arts (Music, Drama, Dance or a Combination) and Sport.

    13+: Academic, Art, Performing Arts (Music, Drama, Dance or a Combination), Sport and All Rounder Award.

    16+: Academic, Art, Performing Arts (Music Specialism, Drama Specialism, Dance Specialism or a Combination), Sport and All Rounder Award.

    Entrance Requirements

    School’s own examinations in Maths, English and Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning plus an interview. Entry into 6th Form: minimum of six Grade 5s at GCSE or the equivalent, ideally with a minimum of a Grade 7 in the subject to be studied at A Level.

    2024/2025.   All per term.

    Year 7 – Year 13: Weekly boarding £12,520 –£14,060;    Flexi boarding (up to 3 nights) £11,280 – £12,680;     Full boarding £12,970-£14,700

    Year 7 – Year 13: Day Fees £8,820 – £10,370

    Occasional Boarding: £85 per night.
