Facilities
Located in the beautiful surroundings of a Cathedral Close, Hereford Cathedral School boasts facilities that support a wide-ranging curriculum and a variety of outstanding extra curricular opportunities.
Hereford Cathedral Schools music programme is recognised as one of the countrys finest. With many gifted musicians and specialised, dynamic teaching, the school choirs have gone on to win a variety of national and international competitions. Music plays an important role in school life and pupils are encouraged to join orchestras, chamber groups and bands, as well as choirs including the award-winning Cantabile Girls Choir. Individual lessons are offered in all orchestral instruments.
In addition to well-resourced science laboratories, the School has its own theatre and a superb Art and Technology Centre. The dedicated and well-equipped Learning Support Centre gives pupils throughout school the support they require to gain confidence in their abilities and develop strategies to enable them to become independent learners.
Sports provision includes a games hall, an all-weather pitch, gymnasium and squash courts on site, as well as excellent facilities for outdoor games, including extensive playing fields at Wyeside. The School is also fortunate to have the use of the city swimming pool, the leisure centre and the rowing club.
Pupils are strongly encouraged to get involved with a rich programme of activities, including sport, drama, music, Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, as well as a whole host of clubs, from Young Enterprise and chess to dissection and debating.
