Eltham College Sixth Form students attend Cobham Hall Model United Nations

On Saturday 23 March, a team of nine Sixth Form students attended Cobham Hall Model United Nations, representing Italy and France.

Debating topics ranging from ‘the question of a universal age of consent’ to ‘the question of a compulsory curriculum teaching students about LGBTQ+’, the nine students were faced with representing the interests of their country in (often heated) debates. Having reached a consensus by the Saturday lunchtime, students then thrashed out resolutions during the General Assembly that afternoon. Keen to ensure the agreements did not misrepresent their country.

All students performed their delegation roles admirably, with both Italy and France receiving an honorable mention for their role in the Political Committee (the question of combating corruption in governments.).
