Combined Cadet Force Nitex – Wrekin Nightshade

An excellent exercise, developing all-important teamwork, leadership and effective communication skills….
Under the watchful eye of Major Jeremy Ballard, the cadets arrived at windswept Nesscliffe Cadet Training Centre and set up their base of operations at the salubrious ‘Cook’s Hut’.
A brief set of orders was given and two reconnaissance patrols set out to intercept enemy intelligence from two ‘dead drops’.
Navigating in the dark is never an easy task, nevertheless the patrols returned within their time limit. Once the information had been collated and interpreted, a quick set of battle orders were produced and a ‘fighting’ patrol was despatched to recover vital documents from the enemy’s helicopter landing site. The cadets, led by Lieutenant Corporal Dan Jackson, executed their plan very effectively; putting into practise the skills we aim to develop in our young charges.
On returning to base the cadets enjoyed the ‘spoils of war’ contained in the recovered ammo box.
All agreed it was another excellent exercise, developing all-important teamwork, leadership and effective communication.
