04 Mar 2025

Bromsgrove School CambodiaThe Headmaster and Assistant Head of Bromsgrove School recently visited Phnom Penh for the launch of Bromsgrove International School Cambodia (BISC). This marks an exciting new chapter in the history of Bromsgrove School, which has been at the forefront of educational excellence since its foundation in 1553, and this is the third International School to join the Bromsgrove family alongside Bromsgrove Mission Hills in Shenzhen China and Bromsgrove International School Thailand (BIST) in Bangkok.

In Phnom Penh the new school building, is nearing completion, and is expected to welcome its first students in August 2025.  The School will offer a holistic, British-curriculum education that nurtures academic achievement, character development, and global citizenship from Kindergarten through to Sixth Form.

The campus, designed with sustainability in mind, will feature state-of-the-art facilities, expansive playgrounds, and eco-friendly infrastructure, setting a new standard for education in Cambodia.

Bromsgrove-School-Cambodia.The establishment of BISC is a testament to the ongoing efforts to rebuild Cambodia’s education system, which faced devastating setbacks during the Khmer Rouge era, when most schools were shut down and an estimated 75% of teachers lost their lives. The development of Phnom Penh, however, has been rapid, and the Headmaster and Assistant Head were impressed by the city’s growth. They are optimistic that Bromsgrove International School Cambodia will soon become a renowned educational institution in the region. As BISC prepares to open its doors, it promises to play a key role in shaping the future of education in Cambodia, enriching the minds of young learners and contributing to the country’s educational landscape.

After the pre-launch event the Headmaster, Mr Michael Punt commented “With the opening of BISC, we look forward to offering an exceptional educational experience that equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an interconnected, global society”.
