Bishop’s Stortford College pupil, Elijah, is National 100m Champion

Bishop’s Stortford College Prep School pupil, Elijah Upson, won the U12 100m National Preparatory Schools Athletics Championships, held at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.

Having qualified at the East Regional Championships with a time of 14.14 seconds, Elijah went onto the National Finals, sailing through his heat with a time of 13.19 seconds. However, up against 7 other boys from competing prep schools, Elijah saved his best running until last and completed the final race in first place with a Personal Best of 13.14 seconds, earning him the title National 100m Champion for his age category.

Hannah Fordham, Head of Athletics, commented, “Elijah has always been a keen sportsman and he excels in all sports. He is incredibly hard working and determined and I am so proud of him for becoming the 100m National Champion. I look forward to seeing his continued success in the sport.”
