CHAPEL CHOIR IN FINE VOICE SINGING CHORAL EVENSONG AT TEWKESBURY ABBEY

26 Nov 2014

The Chapel Choir were on fine form for the trip to Tewkesbury Abbey to sing a service of Choral Evensong. The choir sounded impressive with excellent tone quality throughout and with careful attention to diction, particularly in the singing of Psalm 100. Other music included Preces and Responses by Sanders, Sumsion’s beautiful setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A and then, perhaps the highlight of the service, Bullock’s Give us the wings of faith in which the choir throughly enjoyed and took advantage of the fabulous acoustic in the Abbey church. A wonderful time was had by all and the Chapel Choir now look forward to their trip to sing Choral Evensong in Wells Cathedral on Tuesday 17 February – a date for the diary!
